My First Sweater Design!

Here it is! My first sweater design with multiple sizes. I absolutly loved designing this sweater and knitting it. The yarn was amazing, I used Mirasol Project's Tupa, which is a 50/50 wool silk blend. The colors that it comes in are amazing.

I just posted the pattern in my etsy shop and on Ravelry. Check it out if you want more info on the pattern.

Simon has been away for a week now and my days here in Philly are moving, I'm not sure yet if they are moving quickly but the are moving. It is now down to 16 days before I fly out from Philly. I'm getting excited and can't wait to see Simon and meet his family, not to mention be in warm weather.

Tidal Pool

I just listed this beautiful aqua blue sock yarn in my etsy shop. I love this color, it came out beautiful on the hank of wool. I look forward to seeing it off to knitter or crocheter who loves this color as much as I do. Check out my shop for more info

Simon's Last Day

Today is Simon's last day here in the states for awhile.
We finished up a lot of paper work for his visa and ran errands.

We've been running around seeing friends almost every night since Sunday and I am exhausted. I'm going to miss him once I drop him off at the airport tomorrow.

Target

Yesterday Simon and I had our last date day and what better place to spend it than in state where we met and began our relationship, New Jersey.

We went out to brunch at the dinner where we had our first date, and then off to one of my favorite places Target. I don't know why, but I really love target. We had a mission while we were there, create our wedding registry. This process was simple and easy and a hell of a lot of fun. We could have stayed home and done it all online, but it was much more fun going to the store and using the price scanner gun. Simon wasn't thrilled about making a list of things we wanted people to buy us and while I'm not one to place a lot of importance on thing like a wedding registry it was fun, and people have already been asking about where we were registered.

Our list didn't end up being very big, and I will probably go online and tweek the list a bit. One of my favorite things that is on our registry is a large wall clock, of Simon's choosing.

Boring pic

This doesn't look so great taken with the flash in my dimly lit living room on my weird blue gray carpet. But at least I took it.

Saturday

I am admit that on Saturdays Simon and I are lame. I get home from work and instead of being a happening young couple, or even a guy with a cute young girlfriend, we stay in and watch TV or if we're feeling crazy a movie. Watch out!

Yesterday I bought yarn for my next sweater project that I hope to have finished in time to wear to Australia. I know sweater and Australia don't seem to go together, but I am leaving from philly and it is cold here and everyone keeps telling me that the planes are always cold. I will take some pics soon.

I am also blocking my jasmine top that I finished last weekend. It's going to take forever to dry! The yarn once wet was very stretchy which was in my favor since I only had 6 balls and with two and 1/2 inch worth of ease these balls were used up fast. Unblocked the top was only 12 inches from under the arm to the bottom which is about two inches to short for my liking, so when my top stretched to 14 inches from under arm to bottom I was jumping with joy.

More tomorrow, hopfully some pics.

Vintage Finds: Baggage

Vintage Finds is back and ready to search out some awesome vintage goods. This weeks theme is travel. I'm all hyped up on air line fees, luggage and what one should pack vs. what one wants to pack. I'm going to share my excitement for my up coming trip through this vintage finds.

Girls Night

I'm heading out to spend the evening with a bunch of my girl friends. I haven't spent time with some of these ladies in a long time, and it will soon be even longer since I leave in a little more than a month.

I'm sure much fun and pictures will ensue.

Manic Monday

My Monday wasn't manic it was actually quite laid back and nice. I listed a new item, ran errands, and worked in the afternoon for a few hours.

I've started to post in the evenings and i think I like it much better than posting first thing in the morning before my day even starts. Expect more late posting from me in the future. This I think will be a new years resolution, post on my blog in the evening before dinner.

Simon and I are spending a lot of time together as he has finished school and is leaving in ten days to go back to Australia. All the while I am running around trying to get this K1 visa package together to petition for Simon to return to the country so we can get married. We have to document our relationship for at least two years. From the info I've been reading there are people who have never met who get this visa. Simon and I have been living together for the past year and I'm still worried something will go wrong and get in the way. Stupid crazy red tape!

It will all be worth it in the end.

Berries

Here is another hank of yarn that I dyed before Christmas. I finally took photos last week and edited them.

This is a great Peruvian wool. It's twist isn't as high as the other base wool I use, so it would be great for a lace project or a slouchy tam. I am very excited with the color. I used four different shades of purple when kettle dying this yarn. Purple tends to be a pain in the ass, as it likes to separate in the dye pot, but by using multiple shades and monitoring the temp of the water I was able to dye this beautiful semi sold.

Check it out in my shop and make sure to take a peek at all the other yarn I have up!

Work Day

Today I worked at the shop and it was slowish. It was so cold and windy out that no one seemed to be out and about the city.

I must say I am glad to be home in my semi warm apartment. Simon put plastic insulation on our windows today to keep the draft out and I admit it helps a lot.

The stew is in the oven and it is almost time for dinner, I'm sure tomorrow i will have a least a new pic or tow to post.

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year to all!!!

Simon and I have been running around this past holiday season visiting family and spending time with our friends and now that all the excitement is over i have time to sit back and relax. Or write a post and upload my photos, edit said photos and list some new items in my shop. Check it out I just posted a great hank of hand dyed yarn called Summer Sunset.

As the holidays draw to a close Simon and I are getting ready for our trip to Australia. He sadly leaves in two weeks and I leave in five. A small part of me wishes it was a little sooner, mostly because I am ready for some warmer weather.

As for new years resolutions i don't have any this year. I'm just ready for some amazing adventures to happen in 2010. Starting with my Oz trip, and then getting married (in 9 months and 25 days) and who knows what else. All I do know is that I am very happy where I am and can't wait to see what happens next!
