New Knitting Pattern: Harvest Mitts

I just released my newest pattern in my Esty shop.  The Harvest Mitts are a simple pattern with an fun twist on 2x2 ribbing.  I really enjoyed designing and knitting these. I love the simplicity of this design I might have to knit a pair in blue, or maybe purple.  I like the length of the mitt and think it would look great with a 3/4 length sleeve jacket.

Mirasol's Tupa is one of my all time favorite yarns.  The colors it comes in are beautiful and the hand is soft and luxurious both of these qualities I attribute to the blend of 50/50 merino wool and silk.  The harvest mitts only require one hank of Tupa which makes this a great gift project or a great and inexpensive way to enjoy a wonderful yarn.

Sneak Peek: Harvest Mitts

Here's a quick look at my newest pattern the Harvest Mitts.  What I loved about designing them was the stitch pattern it's simple, has elasticity, and looks interesting.  This pattern will be out in my Etsy shop and on Ravelry on Friday October 14th.

(I've been in a yellow mood lately.)

Almost Done

My lovely ball of yellow yarn is smaller now. I have finished the pattern and am making the mitts according to my old notes, and making new notes. The right hand is finished and the photo above is the left hand on the needles just getting started. I expect to finish the left hand today and type up the pattern tomorrow, and maybe take pictures since Simon will be around the apartment in the morning.

More on Mitts

I've posted about these mitts quite a bit, but I finally listed them today on in my Etsy shop. I then went to work and when i came home they had sold! I was shocked and danced around my apartment. When Simon gets home from class we may have to go to the WaWa to get a celibratory treat. Maybe icecream, or a donut, something full of fat and sugar.

I also listed some of the cowls I made recently. I'm keeping the sea cowl for myself, but I have a few on my Etsy and will have more up soon.

Overall Today was very productive. I even applied for a Lighting Design gig in Philly.

I thought tis photo turned out great!

Finished Mitts

I finished the mitts. Ok they've been completed for awhile, but they needed somthing. I played around with ribbon and bottons, but I like this surface crochet instead. The green sock yarn brings out the green in this creamy heather yarn.

This will be up in my etsy shop as soon as I get some good shots

Mitts

I made mitts on two circular needles. It's the first time I made two mitts at one time and It made it so much easier and faster. I tend to not finish my second anything. I've used magic loop and dpns, but i think that two circilar needles is the way to go.

These will be up in my shop in a few days once i weave in my ends and give them a little something something.
