Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all my Blue Betty Blog readers!  This week is the start of the new year on the blog as well as in my shop.  I can't wait to get started and for all of you to see what is in store for 2012.

The end of the year culminated in an amazing game of broom ball.  This is the second year we've gone and even though I fell pretty hard on the ice and bruised my knee, I can at least walk up and down stairs unlike last year.  I guess going to the gym has been paying off.

Then Simon and I rung in the new year at our friends party down in South Philly.  Good Bye 2011.  Hello 2012.

Things I am looking forward to in 2012
-Starting Alchemy Hour
-Teaching Fashion Design
-My spring/summer designs
-Christmas 2012 in Oz!

2012

I am excited to see what 2012 holds in store for Blue Betty and me as well.  In the past I always talk about my personal resolutions and this year I'm not really making any.  Let me rephrase this I am making goals for me and for Blue Betty and starting up something new in the process.

For Blue Betty I have a bunch of goals for the blog as well as designs that I want to publish in the year to come.   One of these goals is to have more tutorials and guest bloggers on the blog.  Along those lines I am excited to be bringing back Vintage Finds Friday and Fiber Friday to the blog.

Now for the new thing.  I am going to start dying yarn on a more regular basis and am splitting my Etsy shop into two separte shops. My patterns and finished items will still be found in BlueBettyShop while all my hand dyed yarn will be in my new shop Alchemy Hour.  You can pop over now and get a look at my banner and some other bits and bobs.  Alchemy Hour will be open in the new year.

On a personal note I am making just two goals.  I want to start getting up a tiny bit earlier, mostly so I can get more stuff accomplished before work and my second goal is to surf more.  I mean as soon as it's the weather for surfing.

What goals or resolutions do you have for 2012?
See you in the New Year!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I must say my new year has started off very busy. First off I got a spinning wheel for Christmas. It is beautiful its from a company called Heavenly Handspinning. They have an etsy shop too and sell a bunch of different hand spinning supplies. Simon gave me the Bellus which is a double treadle wheel. I absolutely love it!

As for the new year I have a new consignment offer at a place up in North Philly. I also am starting a new design that is going to be published in Creative Knitting. More to come on that front once I have more to tell. I am also going to start a design a day notebook. I know most of the stuff won't be up to standard for a design, but I'm hoping it sharpens my design skills, and maybe improve my drawing skills too.

Here are my knitting resolutions:
1. Start drawing more (design a day notebook)
2. Swatch more (Maybe I'll start doing a swatch a week, although this seems a bit too ambitious, but it might be a good goal to have.)
3. Submit, Submit, Submit (designs that is)
4. Spin more hand spun (on my fancy new wheel)

Those are mostly fun new years resolutions. Now for the non knitting list.
1. Be more active.
2. Go to the market more
3. Organize our living space.

Now with that said I am off to draw a bit and then off to dig through my stash for something yummy to knit (I should really take an inventory, I guess that falls under organize living space.)

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year to all!!!

Simon and I have been running around this past holiday season visiting family and spending time with our friends and now that all the excitement is over i have time to sit back and relax. Or write a post and upload my photos, edit said photos and list some new items in my shop. Check it out I just posted a great hank of hand dyed yarn called Summer Sunset.

As the holidays draw to a close Simon and I are getting ready for our trip to Australia. He sadly leaves in two weeks and I leave in five. A small part of me wishes it was a little sooner, mostly because I am ready for some warmer weather.

As for new years resolutions i don't have any this year. I'm just ready for some amazing adventures to happen in 2010. Starting with my Oz trip, and then getting married (in 9 months and 25 days) and who knows what else. All I do know is that I am very happy where I am and can't wait to see what happens next!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all!

Just a quick post and I'm off to work for the day. Simon asked me if I had any new years resolutions and the only one i could think of was that i am determin to learn how to cook tofu. It's a little silly, but that was all I could think of last night. Now I can think of a few more, here is a short list for 2009.

I am going to be a better friend and hibernate in my apartment less.
I am going to be more organized with my business and work towards branding my designs.
I am going to promoto and not be afarid to talk about my work with others.
I am going to halp Simon around the apartment more, and attempt to keep my yarn under control.
I am going to spend less money on things i don't need.
And after all of that i am going to learn how to cook good tofu.

I'd love to hear what some of your resolutions are.
TTFN!
And Again Happy New Year.
