Welcoming Fall

I am excited to be back and officially blogging again, I am also excited for fall to roll in. Cool days and chilly nights, warm cozy knits and large mugs of warm drinks. To celebrate the coming of fall I went to my favorite coffee house the other day, ordered a latte and sat in the front by the shops large glass window. They already had a pumpkin sitting on the counter.

Look how pretty my latte looked.

Here is what I am working on, a beanie that my husband approves of. Once it is finished and the pattern is complete I may let him keep it. Which reminds me next week I will have a new pattern out in the world. I have a lot of plans for the fall, some new patterns, some fun tutorials, and maybe a recipe or two. On the blog I am planning some new Technique Tuesday posts, along with new stitch pattern posts, a Fiber Friday and even a resurrection of Vintage Finds Friday.

The fun starts tomorrow with Technique Tuesday.

I'm Back!

Yesterday was the last day of camp for the staff and I am now happily home in my apartment in Philly. I won't start my usual posts till after labor day, but its great to be back. Simon and I are working on the apartment and last night I made veggie curry. I really missed veggies and fruit that isn't banana's this summer.

I am excited to get back on the blog band wagon and want to put a question to the readers. What would you like to see more of on this blog?

Well I'm off to drink coffee, and get ready for the day!

New Offbeat Blog: Offbeat Home

I am a big advocate of Offbeat Bride having practically lived on that site while planning my wedding, and although Simon and I are not ready to have kids I love reading Offbeat Mama. But I am super psyched about Offbeat Home. When I realized that it was up and running I may have peed myself a little bit. This is the third installation in what it's creator Ariel calls the Offbeat Empire.

Why am I so excited?
Well, Simon and I have been married for 6 months now, and we are not planning on starting a family for awhile, so in a weird way Offbeat Home is the prefect blog for where I am right now in my life. That, and we live in a tiny apartment in center city, to some our home is offbeat.

Why you should check it out?
There seems to be something for everyone. Posts on decorating, home buying vs renting, kids rooms, home tours, DIY, how to make cheese, how to hide your sex toys, the list goes on and on.

Read this Blog: Thoughts of a Nobody

"I'm not one of those people who has a battalion of "friends". Someone who constantly brags about how many they have, when in reality they couldn't give you your middle name. No. I have, count them with me, five friends. Five friends who know an obscene amount of detail about me. I'm not talking about your run of the mill questions like favorite color, favorite band, and blah-fuckin-blah. I mean real questions. What blood type am I, what are the two things I fear more than needles and heights, the names of my two electric guitars, what do I have a geeky/borderline creepy obsession with, and what OCD tendency do I have when I enter a kitchen. "
-Thoughts of a Nobody
, Zach J.

I will admit I am a bit bias about this blog, and although Zach's posts are sporadic and infrequent his insight and style are interesting. Sometimes he is spot on with his observations to a point of honest hilarity. Check out his last post, it was smart, funny, a bit dark and brutally honest about
himself.

New Priorities and a Blog Hiatus

If you haven't noticed I really haven't blogged all February. I felt like I was getting bogged down in the same old routine, and that my post were all the same. I also felt that my blog wasn't becoming what I really wanted it to be. Saying that I'm not exactly sure what I want it to be, but It wasn't going in the direction I wanted it too.

So with March comes a fresh start. I know I'm two months behind and that the first of the year is usually when one starts fresh, but I needed some time to reflect on it. Here are my spring goal for this blog.

1. More tutorials and knitting patterns.
2. Updates on my projects, knitting and sewing.
3. More posts about others. I really enjoyed writing my post about my friend Justin's music and want to do that more.
4. Plan and execute a blog giveaway

I am off to take some photos and start planing for the next few days!

OMG!

This morning I was rudly awaken by my next door neighbor playing Metallica at 8am in the morning. Although I was awake before I wanted to be I checked my email and there is a blog that wants to feature me and my etsy shop. I've only been selling for a week so I was shocked. Pleasently surprized, but i thought that it would take longer. I Still haven't made a sale, but this is a great opertunity.

Also i've been working on a few different things for my shop. I have a hat i'm working on that is absolutly gorgous, but i think it's the yarn that makes it as beautiful as it is. I'll post a pic tomorrow when i can get some good pics of it in the light.
