Happy May Day!

Happy May Day!
Here is a stack of t-shirts just waiting to become one of a kind recycled bags. I have been frequenting thrift stores in the neighborhood it find a good selections of colors and prints. Now its time to go fabric shopping. I did find about three yards of a gray herringbone canvas at the thrift store that I just couldn't pass up.

I have been sewing like crazy so I'm sure this pile will be depleted soon. I did take the time this morning to list a new in my esty shop. Check it out.

HOT

I feel like I am going to melt. It isn't as hot as yesterday, but I spent the majority of yesterday inside with AC. (One of the perks of working when its hot out.) I feel so unmotivated, and don't want to do a thing, and I had grand plans of sewing and getting work done. I did go to the thrift store and found some wonderful things to make more bags with. But as for the actual creating and sewing, I can't bring myself to do it. All I want to do is sit in a tub of cool water while drinking iced tea.

I am doing some laundry, but that's more because I have to than want to. I must venture back out in the heat at 6pm for an interview up in north Philly. I'm excited to have the interview, but not about the walk to the subway station or the subway ride. Hopefully when it's done the sun will have started to go down and it may be slightly cooler than right now.

I Love My Bed

Today was the first day in about eight weeks that i got to lay in my bed after my alarm went off. I didn't have to jump out of bed at 7am to get ready for work at 8:30am, nor did I have plans that required me to be up by 10am and ready to go out.

As I type this I am still in my PJ's and eating my very late breakfast and drinking my morning coffee. Tomorrow and Friday will be similar days, but don't get me wrong I have a lot of stuff to get done for my etsy shop and I have to start getting things in order for my summer job. Even today I am baby sitting for the afternoon.

I need to get some sewing done by the end of the week, and I have to bind off my latest lace project. So, I have enough to keep me busy along with my day job.

Done and Dusted

The show I was on closed this Sunday and yesterday I helped strike the set. I am a little sad, I loved working on that show the cast was great and I loved hang out with the crew.

Yesterday, we took the set down and pulled it apart and helped the Technical Director and the Master Carpenter get ready to load in the next show. It will be nice to have more time to myself before camp starts as I return to my day job and nanny job. I won't be walking to Old City every morning or waking up at 7 am. (I do not like getting up in the mornings.) But I won't be working on a show till the fall it looks like.

I will also have more time for my etsy shop that has been sitting and getting little attention from me lately. I have a few new items I need to take photos of and list, also my sewing achine has been neglected these past two months.

With all of this said I'm back.

Still Rainning

It has been the most rainy April I remember in a long time. Not only is it rainy but its cold. Everything is wet, the apartment feels damp although its not, and there is a hole in my rain boot.

Other than that things are wonderous. I've been sewing and working on a few one of a kind pieces for Blue Betty. I've had time to myself which is nice since my scheadule has been packed. Hopfully I will be jumping back on the blog more often now that I have time to sit and breath and that means type!

Here's one of the "One of a Kind Items" soon to be listed.

I love this bag, it is now my new Etsy avatar. It's made from a upcucled t-shirt I bought at the local thrift store. It's extra roomy and lined with fun fabric.

I've also been dyeing roving lately, I will have pictures of that soon. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some good pics as the rain is suppose to stop and the sun is said to come out.

Rainy Day

It rain most of today, but I did get to the Fabric store I love. Spool is this great fabric store in Philly. They have a great selection of cotton prints and a beautiful work room with great sewing machines in the back. This is where I went to sew before I got my machine. I always find something that I want when I'm there.

Right Next door to Spool is Loop it's sister store. Loop is a lovely yarn store with beautiful silks and wools. I couls spend hours and a whole months paycheck in there.

I only went to spool today and wanted to buy everything, but I only went to find some fabric to line a bag I'm working on for me. I found this great print of pink lotus blossoms and green leaves, it's Amy Butler, her stuff is amazing.

I've listed new Bags in my etsy store take a peek.
